Participation in our Chamber is a significant part of placing your business in the right place at the right time. Your participation will give you the opportunity to increase the community’s awareness of your business. Our endeavor is to pursue excellence in connecting business and community through our programs, community service, and publications. Whether you are brand new or established, becoming a member of the East Mountain Chamber of Commerce is a great way to network and build your business.

MARKETING:

  • Press releases

    • Ribbon cutting and ground breaking events for your business will be forwarded to local papers, displayed on our website, and emailed to our members via our e-newsletter

    • An opportunity to be randomly drawn as the featured business on the monthly Mountain View Telegraph EMCOC page, plus specially-priced advertising on that page and posting on our e-newsletter

  • Advertising

    • Web Site Member Directory listing on the Chamber’s website www.EastMountainChamber.com

    • Visitor Center Promotion – representation at the Village of Tijeras Visitor Center which directs tourists and local residents inquiries toward EMCOC members

    • Information Packet advertising – containing your business information sent to new East Mountain arrivals in response to inquiries about the area

    • Special advertising opportunities are also available (see Levels of Membership)

  • Networking Events

    • Semimonthly breakfast meetings with chamber members held every 2 nd and 4 th Friday from 8-9 at local member eating establishments. Bring your business cards!

    • Monthly Chamber meetings/luncheons provide a great networking and marketing opportunity. Guest speakers are invited. Current and new members may make short presentations. Meet new business associates and reconnect with long-time friends. Held the first Thursday of every month at the Village of Tijeras Visitor Center from 11:30 – 1:00. Lunch is provided for members at a cost.

    • Monthly Board meetings held every 2 nd Friday immediately following the networking Breakfast. Everyone is welcome!

    • Quarterly after-hours mixers provide opportunity to showcase your business to the general public. These events are located at various community centers.

COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT:

  • Staffing the Tijeras Visitors Center – Citizens, high school juniors and seniors, and Chamber members volunteer to staff the visitor center where Chamber packets and local information brochures are distributed

  • Support of local charities – East Mountain Food Pantry, East Mountain Friends for Families, after school volunteer tutoring with Los Vecinos Community Center and Vista Grande Community Center, etc.

  • Liaison with other Chambers and Associations like the Estancia Valley Economic Development Assoc., the Association of Commerce and Industry, and other business entities

COMMITTEES & SPECIAL EVENTS : (exposure and voluntary participation in events which better the community in which we live)

  • Ambassadors - promote the Chamber and local business by attending ribbon cuttings, ground breakings, and mixers. Ambassadors meet monthly to discuss ways to better reach the community and support local business. Be a part of this dynamic group of local professionals in welcoming businesses and new chamber members to the area.

  • Enterprise Power Pack Series – a quarterly public and member half-day education workshop with lunch with goals to educate small business owners, teach managing and marketing skills, financial planning, and World Wide Web presence. Sessions are taught by professional trainers and experts in their respective fields.

  • Tri-Chamber Golf Classic -  a Chamber fundraiser conducted at Paa-Ko Golf course with a portion of the proceeds donated to a local charity

  • Breakfast with Santa – an annual Chamber fundraiser offering pictures with Santa for purchase and all-you-can-eat breakfast

  • EMCOC annual golf tournament – a Chamber fundraiser conducted at Paa-Ko Golf course with a portion of the proceeds donated to a local charity

  • East Mountain Celebration – an annual celebration held in August in conjunction with Bernalillo County Parks and Recreation Department

LEVELS OF MEMBERSHIP:

  • Regular: $100 dues/year include:

    • Office space – use of the Village of Tijeras Visitor Center conference room for client meetings or presentations

    • Monthly e-newsletter with events calendar and useful informational announcements

    • Customer contact list – access to the inquiry list maintained at the Chamber office as a resource for your business

    • Advertising:

      $10/month (once a month only) email broadcast to all members

      $15/issue in monthly email newsletter

      $20/month or $150/year prepaid on other Chamber web pages

      $30/month or $200/year prepaid on the Chamber homepage

  • Advanced: $150 dues/year include regular membership benefits plus:

  • FREE broadcast email once a month

  • Half price in all methods of advertising above

  • Direct link to your personal website

  • Member information prominently displayed in addition to business category listing
